Southward Mountain Gin 700ml

Different strokes for different folks. Juniper is certainly front and centre in this gin, which gives the pine and turpentine character which might explain the meths reference in a previous review. For me there is a flash of lemon in the fairly straightforward flavour as well. Overall this is on the austere side but also clean, fresh, and lingering. I give it four stars plus and suggest it is well worth trying, to get a handle on 'Juniperus communis'.

Had been wanting to try this one for a while, finally got a bottle early this month, had visitors on Saturday, so grabbed this bottle and some fever tree tonic, OH MY GOODNESS the smell when we opened it, it was like methylated Spirts, was so strong, very off putting, we tried it and it tasted OK, have never struck this before with any gin, will not be buying this again.
