"Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 23 Year is an exceptionally mature wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, aged for 23 years and selected from the heart of the warehouse. The use of wheat rather than rye in the recipe contributes to its characteristically rich and rounded style, while more than two decades in oak bring substantial depth, mature wood character, and layers of sweet, dark fruit.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich caramel and cream with ripe apple, cherry, oak and subtle tobacco.
Palate: Full and velvety, with vanilla, maple, honey, dark fruit and gentle spice. Mature oak becomes increasingly pronounced.
Finish: Long, warm and oak-driven, with lingering caramel, fruit, tobacco and a touch of chocolate. "
