Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged is the distillery’s first-ever decade-plus release, crafted with their hallmark “aged to taste, not time” philosophy. Aged initially in traditional Kentucky rickhouses (about 6 years), select barrels are transferred to a climate-controlled, limestone cellar for another 5–6 years. This process produces a harmonious balance: deep maturity without excessive oak bite.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Warm caramelized sugar, toasted almonds, and bright citrus zest. Deeper expressions reveal raisin, cocoa, and baking spices like cinnamon and clove.
Palate: Rich and velvety: notes of shortbread and coconut underlined with buttery vanilla and bright spices. Additional layers include dark stone fruit, dried cherries, milk chocolate, and toasted oak tannins—some reviews mention coffee, leather, varnish, and nutmeg tones
