Commercial Description:
Lochlea, an independently-owned distillery in South Ayrshire, Scotland, situated on the same land that the much-loved Scottish poet Robert Burns had his farm. Since 2018 they have been producing, casking and maturing their Lowland whiskies on this family-run distillery. Lochlea also grow and harvest their own barley using water raised from their own wells.
Lochlea Our Barley is Lochlea's first core single malt whisky. Matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels, Oloroso Sherry casks and STR barriques, it comes in at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered with no added colouring.
Nose: Pear syrup, fruit bonbons, warm cut grass, marmalade
Palate: Golden syrup, pepper, rye bread, macadamia nuts, cream soda
Finish: Long finish with a lasting orange beeswax note
