"The Kilchoman 100% Islay 15th Edition is a distinctive limited-edition single malt that showcases Kilchoman’s farm-to-bottle approach. Every stage of production takes place on Islay, using barley grown at Kilchoman’s own Rockside Farm, making this one of the few true single-farm single malts in Scotch whisky.
The 15th Edition is a 9-year-old whisky distilled from the 2014 and 2015 Publican and Concerto barley harvests and matured exclusively in 54 ex-bourbon barrels. Bottled at a robust 50% ABV, with no added colour or chill filtration, it combines Kilchoman’s characteristic coastal peat smoke with bright citrus, tropical fruit and rich bourbon-cask sweetness. The barley is peated to approximately 20 ppm, giving this expression a gentler smoke profile than Kilchoman’s more heavily peated core whiskies.
With only 13,000 bottles released worldwide, the 15th Edition is a particularly appealing bottle for Kilchoman fans and collectors.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Fresh and aromatic, with creamy vanilla, tropical fruit, fresh hay and toasted oak. Grassy notes and a subtle hint of salted butter sit beneath gentle coastal peat smoke.
Palate:
Rich and beautifully balanced, opening with milk chocolate and salted caramel before developing into candied citrus, lemon, ripe pear and fresh peat smoke. A touch of white pepper adds warmth and spice.
Finish:
Long and maritime, with lingering peat smoke, fresh fruit, honeyed sweetness and a subtle salty coastal character."
