"A remarkable piece of Glenfiddich history, Snow Phoenix is a rare limited-edition single malt created following the collapse of several Glenfiddich warehouse roofs under the weight of heavy snowfall in Speyside during the winter of 2010. Rather than letting the affected whisky go to waste, Malt Master Brian Kinsman selected and married exceptional casks from the damaged warehouses, creating this unique expression.
Bottled at 47.6% ABV and non-chill filtered, Snow Phoenix brings together whisky matured in both American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in a rich yet approachable Speyside single malt. Its combination of orchard fruit, honeyed sweetness, vanilla, chocolate, and subtle smoke gives it considerably more depth than the classic Glenfiddich profile.
Released as a one-off limited edition in 2010, Snow Phoenix has since become a sought-after bottle among Glenfiddich collectors and whisky enthusiasts.
Nose:
Creamy vanilla opens the dram, followed by fresh apple and pear, soft floral notes, and a gentle touch of malt.
Palate:
Rich and warming, with roasted orchard fruit, heather honey and chocolate. Layers of caramelised sugar, coffee, dried fruit and gentle spice develop alongside a subtle smoky character.
Finish:
Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering Oloroso sherry, sweet oak, dried fruit and a delicate touch of wood smoke."
