Don Papa Rum 7YO 700ml

A really nice after dinner/ desert rum. Very sweet with vanilla and spice tones easy to drink with ice.

Enjoyed this rum for what it is. Nice vanilla high notes and a very smooth mixer. Yes, it is different to other rum types but if you prefer the spiced style of rum this will be a good compliment to that range. If you are a staunch navy style or dark rum advocate then you likely won't like this or a spiced style.

I enjoy rum, by no means an expert but I've tried a few. This is at the same price point as El dorado and Diplomatico etc and is absolutely not in the same league. Tastes like sugar syrup and vanillin. The label is deceptive, makes it look like a respectable brand but don't be fooled. If you like sweet sugary rum with a very, very intense vanilla flavor then go for it but I will never, ever buy another bottle of this. I looked at it in my liquor cabinet just this evening and got the head shakes you get when you remember drinking or eating something yuck.
