Blockhouse Distillery, part of the Wild Kiwi Distillery Group, have released their first gin - and it's a banger.
The Rose Petal Gin is distilled with seven core botanicals and infused post-distillation with rose petals which give it it's signature pink blush.
Appearance: If served neat or on the rocks, the gin will have a burnt pink hue. When served with tonic, the gin takes on a bright, fluorescent pink tinge.
Aroma: The nose is balanced between the fruity and floral rose petals (think Turkish Delight) and the base gin's herbaceous and slightly woody notes.
Taste: Juniper berries and Cassia bark are to the fore with floral and citrus notes rounding out the flavour profile. The mouthfeel is full and slick.
Distiller's suggestion: match with Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water. A classy gin that will titillate the senses. Enjoy!
