Ileach Islay Peated 40% 700ml

Brought this Malt on a recommendation from a friend, pleasantly surprised, very good value, compelled to buy a bottle for another friend.
It certainly displays the qualities of Lagavulin, a great wee Islay Malt.

Cannot believe this gets 95 pts. Nose and palate attack ok but finish is harsh and crude. Maybe a duff bottle? Worst Islay I have ever tasted and even my peat dog neighbour could not finish his glass. Buy a Lagavulin 16 and drink it half as often. Laphroaig 1/4 cask administered immediately afterwards to cleanse palate...

I took this one to a tasting session and everyone liked it. Mildly peated and smooth. For the price- excellent value! Will purchase this again.

Great little whisky ileach, smokey, mellow and smooth - with a fruity banana like finish. Not aged but tastes great and for the price it smashs it out of the park . Easy money, and well worth it.

If you have tasted and like the smokey hock Finlaggen you will enjoy this. It is not as strong and overpowering which makes it enjoyable. Very slightly medicinal much less than Talisker 10), malty, smooth, salty after taste expected from an Islay ...bloody nice dram.
If you haven't done an Islay here is where to start (then head to Ardbeg). Will re-buy.
