Review below probably sums it up well . Certainly different. Would I buy again ?
This is a fantastic whisky for the age and the price, but a small word of warning up front: it’s not a malt, so don’t judge it by malt standards. As a single grain, it brings a different experience to the table — much like the subtle differences between Irish, Scottish, and whiskies from further afield. Different lane, same road.
On the palate, this is light, creamy, sweet, and gently oily, with an almost liqueur‑like softness. There’s little to no bite at all — it’s impressively smooth. In fact, it goes down smoother than a kipper in a velvet tuxedo. Yes… that smooth.
Now, this isn’t going to blow your mind with complexity like a great 18‑year single malt, a standout 12‑year malt, or a top‑tier blend. But that’s not really the point. Taken for what it is — a light, easy‑going, summer‑friendly whisky with serious age and an approachable price — it’s very hard to overlook.
