Spy Valley has a strong reputation for consistently producing award winning Gewürztraminer, winning their first trophy in 2002 at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards. Since then picking up multiple national and international awards including the Sydney International Wine Competition, London International Wines and Spirits Competition and the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
The bouquet as possessing ‘Mango, ginger, nutmeg and rose petal notes.’ The palate has ‘powerful fruit flavours support a smooth flowing structure that lingers in the mouth.’
Although deliciously fruity when young, there is structure to give the option of cellaring for several years. The optimum suggested drinking window would be from 1-5 years after harvest.
