Although there is no distillery at Finlaggan Castle, this ancient home of the "Lords of the Isles" lends its name to one of the islands finest malt whiskies. Finlaggan "Original" is a peaty distillation from one of Islay's finest distilleries. Rich in the aromas of the peat smoke which dried the barley and of the Scottish sea shore where it matured. Not my kind of peat

Not the kind of peat I like. I love Ardbegish, Bruichladdich sort of peat, and I consider myself to be a peat lover. For some reason, I was not able to make myself like this one very much. Finished the bottle, though.
Will not buy this again.

Friday night

On Friday evening my wife relaxes with a Whisky bought on line though Whisky and More. Her favorite is Islay or similar. The top came off, a deep inhale, a " well hello you"..The sigh of satisfaction and the smile said it all.

Introduced to the Whisky Club at Tamahere Country Club monthly meeting.
Well received by attendees who commented on the well balanced peaty flavour , a good finish . Those who enjoy a more Islay whisky will not be disappointed .
