"Matured in refill American oak hogsheads & ex-bourbon barrels, this Pittyvaich bottling was part of Diageo's Special Releases in 2015. Lots of nutty cereal and almond notes, with mango and lemon tart. Very moreish. Established in 1975 and closed in 1993, this Speyside distillery, with a short history, is rarely seen as a Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Very interestingly, this bottling is older than the distillery's life itself.
Nose: Fragrant, malty cereals with a syrupy and creamy note.
Palate: Floral with malt, a heavy, rich palate with some natural waxiness.
Finish: Subtle oak overlayed with white and dark chocolate tones.
About 6,000 bottles were released globally."
