This eight-year-old is big and smoky, with sweet spice that becomes apparent with a drop of water. Inspired by the visit of Alfred Barnard to the distillery in the 1880's when he tried an 'exceptionally fine' eight-year-old from the distillery, this is a fitting tribute for the milestone. Matured using a combination of European and American Oak casks and bottled at 48% volume, This limited, once of a lifetime dram, is only available while stocks last.

Smooth & Smokey

Better than the 18, nice combinations of peat & spice

Certainly a well priced Isley whiskey with rounded flavour however a bit fragile in substance for my taste

Better than the 16 y.o?

Lagavulin 16 used to be my go-to, then it disappeared for a while and I don't feel the current version is as good. Now I prefer the 8 y.o. It's got a lot of character and fight in it and it's better value for money, particularly when you special it under $100.

Great tasting Islay

This is a very well priced dram, that delivers a great tasting smoky flavour, full of peat, well balanced, lots of depth.

Young but with great heritage

The great peaty notes you expect but with a more youthful forcefulness. Delicious.
