Te Awanga Trademark Chardonnay 2017 (RRP $60)
Only
$39.00
Crafted with future complexity in mind, this wine opens with flinty, struck-stone aromas layered with lemon curd, stone fruit, and a subtle biscuit-like lees character.
The palate is supple and seamless, showing impressive depth and flow, with a long, persistent finish. Ripe fruit flavours of lemon, melon, and nectarine are beautifully integrated, supported by taut acidity that keeps everything fresh and balanced.
Sourced from a 25-year-old vineyard in Havelock North, at the base of Te Mata Peak, the fruit was carefully managed to extend hang time and encourage slow, even ripening. Hand-harvested at an average of 23.5 Brix, the grapes were gently pressed and transferred to French oak barriques, where a natural wild fermentation took place. The wine was then left to rest through the cool winter months, enhancing its texture and complexity
Alc 12.5%
