The new presentation of an old Bowmore favourite, the no-age-statement Legend. Bowmore is a distillery that produces scotch whisky on the isle of Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides. The distillery, which lies on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal, is one of the oldest in Scotland, and is said to have been established in 1779. Bowmore Distillery sources as much barley as possible from on the island of Islay, however there are insufficient quantities produced to satisfy the distillery's demand, and barley is also imported from the mainland. The distillery retains a traditional floor malting but this also lacks sufficient capacity and the barley imported from the mainland is normally already malted.

3 whiskey test

Got 2 mates and had a 3 panel taste test comparison with Bowmore, Glen Grant and Glenfiddich, the Smokey peat flavour dominated the Bowmore, the Glen Grant was mild and smooth, the Glenfiddich sharp, left on the shelf. At first taste thought the Glen Grant was No.1, for 2 of us, 2nd taste all 3 thought Bowmore had more interesting flavours.
If you compared what was left in the bottle Bowmore came out on top, with Glen Grant a close 2nd.

Expectations Met

Very smooth - just as you would expect from Bowmore. Excellent value.
