Crafted by Edinburgh whisky merchant Ronald Morrison, the recipe remains unchanged from the day it was first created in 1947.
“Glayva” translates in Gaelic to “very good” – the words spoken by Morrison’s warehouseman upon tasting the liquid.
An exotic fusion of the finest aged Scotch malt whiskies, a carefully selected range of spices, Mediterranean tangerines, cinnamon, almonds and honey.
Surprisingly smooth and sweet, Glayva tantalises the palate.
Glayva’s awards are testimony to the words of Morrisson’s warehouseman. Glayva has won the IWSC best liqueur trophy an unrivalled five times.
Tilt and turn the glass and watch as the deep gold mahogany colour glistens and shimmers.
Place the glass a few inches from your nose and savour the rich and complex aromas. The sweet tang of syrup, herbs, citrus and the subtle hint of whisky slowly reveal its many attractive virtues.
Take a sip and hold it on your tongue, just for a moment, as a luxurious, creamy wave of tangerine and honey washes over your taste buds.
The perfectly blended, balanced liqueur is a spirit of rare luxury, which lingers long on the palate.
