Takapoto Crossing Point The Red 2016 750ml
Commercial description
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Melbec
What became clear with this discreet Waikato based vineyard, is that without balance there is little harmony. So together with regenerated soil, passionate people, and an unassuming piece of land that creates it's own warm micro-climate, we welcome, Crossing Point.
The story behind the name is an intriguing one. The grapes, as they are planted today, marks the ancient site of the original crossing point for the Maori tribes across the Waikato River. It was perceived to be the narrowest part allowing fallen trees of old canoes to be used as a footbridge. "A slight and rather perilous bridge" as it was described in 1842.
In 2016 and in years to come we shall enjoy 'the drop' produced, to share and celebrate the story of our predecessors.
