Boutique-y Bunnahabhain 35YO 500ml
If you find yourself on the Isle of Islay, the Bunnahabhain distillery on the east coast of the island is definitely worth a visit. A beautiful distillery producing some beautiful whisky - of course you’ll want to head up there! Not only that, the label of our Bunnahabhain shows some other general goings-on around the distillery, like caber-tossing, sunbathing, vintage lorries and a racecar speeding along the windy roads! Racecar is racecar backwards. If you didn’t notice that before, now you know and are thinking about it too much.
Nose: Delicate and takes a little time to reveal itself. Light tobacco notes and chamois leather initially. Banana bread dough follows with hints of peach and orange barley water.
Palate: Softly coats the mouth with a tropical fruit medley followed by gentle wood spices. Over ripe honey mango, soft peach, and banana. Nutmeg and a dusting of cinnamon bring the spices.
Finish: Long and gently spiced. The juicy fruits linger but it’s the peppery wood spices that last longest.
